About this ship

„Najade“ the last true east coast sailor and one of the few flat-bottomed clippers with a sailing area stretching from Den Helder to Poland.
We visit the most extraordinary places in the Wadden Sea/North Sea. Imagine enjoying a delicious lunch on a sandbank. Or sailing across the North Sea to Neuwerk. Incidentally, this is an island where all transport still goes by horse and cart across the mudflats to Cuxhaven!
In the summer months, we extend our horizons to the Baltic Sea. For example, we sail from Copenhagen to Stettin. With Najade, we visit Samsö in Denmark or enjoy a sunrise at the chalk cliffs of Mön.

On board the Najade, we are very conscious of what we do, with a sustainable and environmentally conscious philosophy. For example, we only use biodegradable soap on board and we sail in a truly sustainable way. For us, this means sailing in and out of harbours without using the engine, crossing sandbanks down to the last centimetre and having the peace of mind to sometimes just accept that you can’t go any further. Let things happen as they may and sometimes just try to let go of certain things. Except for the fact that you are enjoying sailing, the peace and quiet and the view, of course!

A large part of the crew are certified mudflat guides. So if you get stuck on a sandbank, it can turn into quite an experience. We’ll disembark and walk on the seabed. Discover what it’s like to walk on wet sand and learn more about the unique Wadden Sea area.

In short, a trip with the Najade is an absolute highlight for those seeking peace and quiet, families, team-building groups and young people. You can leave the daily grind of home, work or school behind you and clear your head thanks to the wonderful mudflat breeze.
