About this ship

The Zwarte Ruiter is a cosy and handy sailing ship on which you will immediately feel at home. It is your floating holiday home, and we will sail with you from Franeker to the most beautiful spots in the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer or the Frisian lakes. More than once, we will let the ship fall dry on a mudflat, a unique experience to set foot on land in the middle of the sea! De Zwarte Ruiter has its original rigging, with which the ship sailed cargo until 1961, giving the ship its own unique character. The living area has a real wood-burning stove, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need for self-catering. We look forward to welcoming you and your group of up to 16 people on board.
